During the summer, we took the first legal step to urge the EU Commission to act on PFAS pesticides. Denmark made a good first step by banning 23 PFAS pesticide products because they pollute groundwater. We objected to an 18-month EU ‘grace’ period for Flufenacet. In France, over 2 million citizens asked the French government to stop the “Loi Duplomb”, next the French Constitutional Council blocked the reintroduction of the insecticide acetamipid. Our French member, Générations Futures, played a very active role. Together we urge for an EU-wide ban of this dangerous, brain-damaging neonic insecticide. We also participated in an EU Public Consultation on the “Export and import of hazardous chemicals”. The Dutch Court of Appeal orders a 250-meter buffer strip between the field where lilies were to be grown and the houses.
